A glass of purple grape juice a day could BE BENEFICIAL TO YOU. It is the most effective of all fruit juices at preventing HEART DI SEASE and cancer, says a latest study.
It has long been known that fruits contain antioxidants called polyphenols which help to neutralise unstable oxygen molecules called free radicals. If left unchecked, these molecules can harm cells, playing a role in everything from ageing to CANCER .
Researchers at the University of Glasgow in Britain wanted to see how much polyphenols remained once fruit had been turned into juice, reported the online edition of Daily Mail.
Professor Alan Crozier and other researchers tested 13 types of juice from a supermarket, including those made from pomegranates, grapefruit, apples, pineapples and tomatoes.
They were a mixture of 'not from concentrate' and 'concentrated' varieties.
A drink made from purple Concord grapes had the greatest level of antioxidants, with cloudy apple, tropical and cranberry juices coming in next, the researchers found.
Generally, the darker juices were best, with purple grapes having the highest levels of polyphenols, the researchers said in their study published in the "Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry". All I know is it tastes yummy!

I usually post photos but what I have been thinking about doesn't require one. In 2008 we will be electing a new commander in chief, and honestly I don't trust any who runs for office.
I am usually not cynical or negative in my thinking. But seriously, folks are we ever going to change for real?Until we get leaders with open minds, compassion, and not into egotistic power and wealth we are once again in this for the long haul. I don't see that happening.
As a leader, seeing all the suffering in this world, I couldn't sleep at night knowing I am on a California King, dining on lobster, and driving a Mercedes Benz while others don't have a bed, food, or a floor for that matter.We all need to wake up and show the world and our own country that dammit we do care!
Show me a politician with even one of these values and I will definitely back that person.Time to end the lies, betrayal, and mudslinging.If people can't play nice in campaigning as adults, do we really want them governing us?I know I sure don't! This is all my opinion like it or not, but we all need to stop and think. It's our kids, and grandkids future we are fighting and voting for. What world shall we plan for them?America is a country worth fighting for and many look up to us as a big brother/sister~I hope 2008 will set a great example for all.We all deserve it~America is a great country and let's prove it this year.I am tired of settling

Artist sells microscopic sculptures for gargantuan £11m
An artist from Birmingham who makes tiny sculptures which can fit into the eye of a needle has sold his collection for £11.2m to entrepreneur David Lloyd. Willard Wigan is known for his painstaking care, working between heartbeats to avoid hand tremors.His work is normally only visible through a microscope and includes micro sculptures of Elvis, the Statue of Liberty and Snow White. He uses a tiny surgical blade to carve sculptures out of rice and sugar, and paints using an eyelash as a brush. His 70-piece collection has sold for about £160,000 an item. Mr Wigan, who has learning difficulties and cannot read or write, says that as a child he used his art to express himself.

She is the guardian angel protecting you and supporting you, feeling for you and serving you silently always with a smile on her face. She prides herself watching you grow and provides you a shoulder to cry on whenever you need. She is every child's best friend. For a child, every single day should be a Mothers Day. The essence of the meaning of Mother's Day is in the fact that we should try and make this day every year a memorable one for your mother. King Herod’s Tomb Found
from cnn.com~~~An Israeli archaeologist on Tuesday said he has found the tomb of King Herod, the legendary builder of ancient Jerusalem and the Holy Land — a potentially major discovery that capped a 35-year quest for the researcher.
Hebrew University archaeologist Ehud Netzer said the tomb was found at Herodium, a flattened hilltop in the Judean Desert where Herod built a palace compound. Netzer has been working at the site, just outside Jerusalem, since 1972, the university said.
Netzer said the tomb was discovered when a team of researchers found pieces of a limestone sarcophagus believed to belong to the ancient king. Although there were no bones in the container, he said the sarcophagus’ location and ornate appearance indicated it is Herod’s.
“It’s a sarcophagus we don’t just see anywhere,” Netzer said at a news conference. “It is something very special.” Netzer, who led the team, said he was not at the site when the sarcophagus was found.Continue Reading »

It is understandable, therefore, that the public is often disappointed and critical when a kidnapping victim found alive is revealed to have had seemingly enough contact with the outside world to make such an escape. Stories of survival can feel ruined when there turns out to have been what looks like an 'easy way out'.
One well-publicized example was that of Elizabeth Smart, the Utah teenager who was abducted at knifepoint from her bedroom in 2002. Nine months later she and her captors were stopped by police not far from her home. Elizabeth was in disguise, and lied about her identity. It was not until some time after being handcuffed and separated from the abductors that she began to cooperate. More recently, Missouri teenager Shawn Hornbeck was found in early 2007 after having been kidnapped and held for more than four years outside St. Louis, only 50 miles from home. Unlike Smart, Hornbeck was able to tell police officers who he was; it was revealed, though, that Hornbeck had been allowed Internet access and a fair degree of autonomy.
In such cases, it is extremely easy to blame the victims; it seems very plausible that the kidnapped individuals were simply not clever, resourceful, or courageous enough to flee their respective abductors. However, this disturbing tendency has little to do with any supposed weakness on the part of the victim. Given the right conditions, abductors are able to exert an astonishing amount of influence over their victims - to the point at which the captive has full loyalty to his or her captor while believing that this was his or her own choice. It is a cognitive phenomenon related to brainwashing and known as Stockholm syndrome.
